New York Loft: Penthouse Bedroom 2
This is the second bedroom from my previous project of the same penthouse unit in 1016 Residences. The bedroom is now being used by the owners' two teenage daughters. Furnished with similar items as the master bedroom when I first found it, the clients asked me to make this second bedroom more homey.
This project was actually something new for me. I generally don't like red-stained wood furniture, I find it very old-fashioned; I'm also not a fan of using dark wood or bold painted furniture, such as this red chest of drawers that we decided to use. Mind you, it really wasn't first on my list - until I began to put the furniture together to make a moodboard. Being a huge fan of all things Scandinavian, my first choices were all light-colored, airy furniture pieces. But after assembling two completely different moodboards, I realized I was drawn to the second one.
That turned out to be a great choice, because the clients and their daughters were very happy with the results! It took only 4 days of work to get everything done, spread out in a period of two weeks.
